Infrared Sauna

The major difference is the way you sweat. Infrared sauna’s use infrared energy, which heats your body directly instead of heating up the room you’re in. Thus, when you sweat, you get A LOT more toxins in your sweat. Traditional sauna’s = 3% toxins, while Infrared sauna’s = 20% toxins. Our infrared sauna operates at a maximum of around 150 degrees as opposed to a traditional sauna which can be as hot as 190 degrees or more. Even though the temperature is cooler and more comfortable, you will sweat deeper than you have ever before.

There are many studies that show heat therapy is an extremely beneficial thing to do for your body. Below we have listed a few categories that an Infrared sauna can bring to you.
DETOX: Detoxification is important because it strengthens the body’s immune system and helps the body’s biochemical processes function efficiently so that we are better able to digest the nutrients in our foods. Detoxification has been shown to be helpful with colitis, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, auto-immune disease, immune deficiency states, autism, ADD, and ADHD.
WEIGHT LOSS: During a sauna weight loss session, core temperatures increase. The body has to work hard to cool itself, causing a healthy sweat. Using an infrared sauna increases heart rate, cardiac output, and metabolic rate, leading to more weight loss!
RELAXATION: Long-term stress is the cause of countless physiological effects on the body, including increased blood pressure, weight gain, and weakening of the immune system. Our private sauna gives you much-needed alone time and helps relax your mind and your muscles.
PAIN RELIEF: Infrared saunas have resulted in effective in pain management therapy for many different ailments. Heat works by penetrating joints, muscles, and tissues, increasing circulation and speeding oxygen flow. By reducing soreness on nerve endings, our infrared heat reduces muscle spasms and helps the body heal itself naturally.
Be sure to remove all your jewelry and as much of your clothing as possible to get the maximum effect of the infrared rays. Ideally, little to no clothing works best as you will be extremely sweaty by the end of your session. Men typically wear workout or swim trunks, and women typically wear workout shorts and a sports bra.

Since saunas involve a significant amount of sweating, and thus fluid loss, drink lots of water before your session. If possible, waiting 1-2 hours after a heavy meal is best to ensure your body is not busy digesting. For your hygiene and to protect the timber finishing of the sauna, we ask you to bring 2 towels with you, one to sit on and one to dry off with. You will also want to have something to sip on during your session to help replenish your muscles through the heating process.

Enjoy your sauna experience! The sauna is a great place to meditate and get away from the outside world. Relax and focus on your breathing to help achieve a state of calmness and peace that harbors recovery and rejuvenation of the body. Our sauna has an aux cord with an iPhone adapter that is compatible with almost all music players with a headphone jack. If for any reason the heat starts to make you light-headed or dizzy, you are never locked inside the sauna, allowing you to open the door to step out.

The most important task is to hydrate! Although we do not provide a shower at our facility, one of the first things you should do is remove any lingering toxins with a towel or ideally, a cool shower. The moisture from sweating will loosen dead skin cells, so brushing your skin – including the face and scalp – will greatly benefit the skin. Avoid using any harsh soaps, shampoos, or moisturizers with chemicals as these can block the open pores of the skin and stop the post-sauna detox effect.

Frequency varies from person to person. As with any therapy, consistency is key. Using a sauna sporadically will help, but you aren’t going to achieve any long-lasting results that way. Anyone who has a chronic illness, lives a stressful lifestyle, or who is undergoing weight loss will particularly benefit from a regular sauna program. Infrared sauna’s can be used every day as long as you are staying hydrated between sessions.

It is completely up to you and your lifestyle. There is no data showing more of a benefit in the morning or evening.

Yes, almost all of our services can be used in conjunction with each other. However, we do suggest that you introduce your body to each service individually as sauna is a detoxifying process. We also recommend booking your sauna session last, as you will be extremely sweaty after a session. The only exception to this is when booking a Cryo-Facial, which should be done after a sauna session to receive the full benefits.
